That´s the second book in the new series The Immortals (the first one is called Evermore). It´s about alchemy, immortality, reincarnation, love, physic powers, etc.
Hm, I would have guessed sci-fi-y, but I guess that shows what i know!
This reminds me of the circle of three books by Isabel Bird, I think is her name. I think one of them is called blue moon, too... must check that out!
